Floating

Last night in the big city... I went in later in the day and went to my favorite little spot to look over the city- it's pretty much at the mouth of the Amstel River. Just a funny little side street.

Then my favorite warm snack- a croquette on a bun with mustard.

It was just getting dark and I had heard there was the Amsterdam Light Festival had just started this week. I stood on a bridge and waited.

So worth the wait! This amazing light sculpture over the water- "1.26 Amsterdam" by Janet Echelman.
It was a large net lit by blue light and it floated and morphed in the wind. Like a jelly fish or a flame with no wick. Stunning.
