Kinderdijk

If you've seen one windmill, you've seen them all... (say some)- but have you seen them all at once?

Kinderdijk is a tiny town with a site of windmills that pump water. Originally built in 1740- there are 19 and they have been an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997.

One of S's friends was taking a visiting colleague around to see some sights so I went with them - this is the same site where I posted earlier about windmills in moonlight. I had not expected to see them again.

We did not make it too far though as the storm clouds came in, and fast. There was one windmill open that we could go in and walk around. It's amazing the spaces people lived and worked in.
