Willem de Kooning

When I met up with LvL today at Blaak Station I finally clued in that the Willem de Kooning Academy was right across the street- when I met LvL she was a student there, and came to live with me while on exchange in Vancouver.

So on the tails of some current students we got in the front door and made an impromptu tour of the facilities.

It was a lot like EC in some ways, there is the old building, and the new right next to each other. I got to see her old studio space and some areas like printmaking, textile studio and common work spaces- and the cafeteria of course! I also saw the student services and international departments... Just like home!
